I’m Ashley Norman, Founder of Mind Your Higher Ground.™ and I’m a bold, radiant, healing-centered leader who creates spaces where people and organizations feel seen, valued, and empowered to thrive. 

I know what it means to carry it all.

I’ve overworked, overextended, and overdelivered while quietly breaking inside. I did what so many of us were taught to do: perform “strong Black woman,” ignore the alarms in my body, secure the degrees, secure the bag, and build a version of success that looked good on paper, while costing me peace.

I’ve watched Black women hold everything together at work, at home, and in our communities without ever being given a blueprint for how to hold ourselves. Eventually, my definition of success stopped looking glamorous and started looking like what it was: self-betrayal.

Out of my own breaking and rebuilding, I created the Higher Ground Method™, held in a healing-centered coaching container and rooted in liberation. This work is not about doing more. It is about living and leading in a way that protects your body, your boundaries, your relationships, your joy, and your voice.

I don’t just teach this work inside coaching spaces. I live it across every space I touch, as a Black professional in tech, founder of Ashley Somone LLC, an associate coach with AMULET Consortium, a project manager in liberation-focused work, and a volunteer ministry leader at Eastern Star Church. In 2022, I was named one of Indiana’s Black Rising Stars by InnoPower and The Indianapolis Recorder for my commitment to bettering how people work and live.

Grounded in my faith, I strive to bring God’s love into every interaction, project, and space I’m entrusted with.

And here’s the good gospel news. I’m not here to help you cope a little better. I’m not here to help you assimilate into systems that were never built to hold you. I’m here to help you return to Higher Ground, where your life feels as good as it looks by liberating 1,000 Black women in their journey from surviving to truly thriving, to lead, love, and leave a legacy on their own terms.
